By way of explanation. The term 'home business' consists of two words. 'Business' is the second one; it's there to qualify and support the word 'home' and all that goes with it - and not vice versa. Consequently, we also list below, items which are of interest and value to the home. Whether in its context as an office or as a part of your family and lifestyle but always directed at the improved prospects and enjoyment that running a business from home, in its entirety, can bring.

For a current, multi-part overview of starting and running a business from home, go here: http://www.homebusiness.org.uk/features.htm

Zero rating VAT on print publications (the offshore, fake news gutter press, in other words) costing the taxpayer £ hundreds of millions a year in what is in effect, taxpayer-financed state disinformation, hate-preaching and propaganda, should be withdrawn instead.

Migrants have 'no reason' to cross Channel, minister George Eustice claims after four die off French coast. https://uk.yahoo.com/news/migrants-no-reason-cross-channel-090434748.html Perhaps the minister should go and spend some time in refugee (not 'migrants') camps in France which his country and France, led by the Americans, have created? Although I am sure anyone who knows the Tory regime and its fake news gutter press will be aware that this is a mere propaganda soundbite intended for Little Ingerlandt's Nazi readerships.

29.10.2020: People struggling to buy groceries and medicine as shops refuse cash – Which? https://www.aol.co.uk/news/2020/10/27/people-struggling-to-buy-groceries-and-medicine-as-shops-refuse/ The next step will be to phase out money altogether although this inevitable development could be slowed down significantly if cash, shekels, were to be withheld from people who voted for Brexit or the Tory regime.

UK farmers looking to recruit thousands of workers for next summer. https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/uk-farmers-looking-recruit-thousands-workers-next-summer-1685181 After revealing that only 4% out of 30,000 British job applicants actually started work (no surprises there then!) our farmers could do worse than moor up a couple of boats off Calais to welcome refugee grafters being driven out of France by baton-swinging gendarmes. And then do everyone a favour by piling shafting Brexit and Tory voters into leaking dinghies before shoving them off to cross the Atlantic in the direction of Farage Chicken-Shit America.

We all know that Tory 'support' is only available to businesses which employ or work with war criminals, terrorists, murderers, fraudsters, tax-dodgers and scammers. That is why they were supported by the offshore, tax-dodging, taxpayer-subsidised, fake news, fake conspiracy, propaganda gutter press.

Brexit Bullshit Update: https://truepublica.org.uk/united-kingdom/weekly-news-review-17th-23rd-october/

The Great Con: AIQ is a company at the heart of Brexit. It had access to the personal data of UK voters – data that the Information Commissioners Office has confirmed it should not have had (source). AIQ, SCL Elections, Cambridge Analytica and Facebook worked together on the Brexit project. Dominic Cummings was at the heart of the campaign that used these new tools of technology for distorting the truth, that led directly to Brexit. All of it was found to be illegal. They denied it, then they cooked up stories to say the whole thing was a conspiracy theory and then paid paltry fines for their crimes. Now we find more proof that Ukip, Leave EU, CA, Steve Bannon and others like Cummings were all in cahoots as contract papers emerge in legal cases (source). There is now more evidence that Brexit was mired in an illegal mass propaganda campaign (source). It is the great con (source) that will enrich the few, disfigure Britain’s democracy, pillage the middle class and pauperise everyone else.

Watch my Lips: “The UK continues to believe there is no basis to resume talks unless there is a fundamental change of approach from the EU.” These words actually ended with the UK’s Brexit negotiator David Frost and his EU counterpart Michel Barnier in talking this week.

Carry on Brexit: Business Secretary Alok Sharma says the difference between an Australia-style deal with the EU and a No Deal Brexit is a “question of semantics”. In other words, not even he can promote this arrangement as anything positive as there is no difference between an Australia deal that the government keeps on harping about and no-deal. Watch this car-crash episode of – Carry on Brexit right HERE.

Fishy Headlines: The Daily Express, the newspaper that cheered on the right-wing free-marketeers of Brexit are starting to get jittery. “FISHERIES could stand to be wiped out if Boris Johnson fails to agree a Brexit deal, UK fishermen have warned” is a headline from this week. The paper worries that fleets could suffer tariffs which could decimate them but also says – that French boats may blockade ports or halt UK exports. This from a newspaper that regularly warns us of alien sightings, visitations and invasions.

Head-in-Sand: Police in the UK “will be increasingly unable to cope” in the event of a no-deal Brexit because existing data-sharing agreements with the EU will be cut, a former independent reviewer of terrorism legislation has said (source). It was only Tuesday this week that Theresa May signalled her disgust at Michael Gove in the Commons as he insisted the UK’s security and counter-terrorism capabilities would flourish in the wake of a no-deal Brexit (source).

Below is an infographic produced by the Trade Justice Movement. It demonstrates the complete lack of transparency in Brexit negotiations in Britain as compared with potential trade partners such as America, Japan and not least the EU itself. What this demonstrates if anything is that A) democracy is all but dead in Britain and B) if Brexit was so great, why the need to suppress all information about what is being negotiated and then deny representative democracy to decide? The UK’s censorship of these negotiations and destruction of democracy is comparable to the workings of tinpot dictatorships that we all used to look down upon.

18.10.2020: UK food standards: why No 10's lack of commitment is making farmers furious. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/uk-food-standards-why-no-10-s-lack-of-commitment-is-making-farmers-furious/ar-BB1a7gR9?ocid=msedgntp Perhaps such a large number of farmers shouldn't have voted for Brexit? Now, they will have to suck up their own slurry.

UK bans any use of mobile phones while driving. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/uk-bans-any-use-of-mobile-phones-while-driving/ar-BB1a7mtn?ocid=msedgdhp Really? Brexit Bullshit Update: https://truepublica.org.uk/united-kingdom/weekly-news-review-10th-16th-october/

Cheap Food: The lies and ideology of Brexit are laid bare when minsters from constituencies that are largely agricultural were silenced when it mattered. The agriculture bill looks set to be passed (Cummings is reportedly threatening rebel MP’s (source)), which will water down food standards and make way for a wave of cheap, low quality food imports. This is the governments’ way of confirming that food prices will not increase as a result of Brexit. Following on from stupid antics like Gavin Williamson’s desk whip, Chief Tory Whip Mark Spencer has a large clamping tool (source) designed to castrate small animals on his desk – presumably to intimidate MP’s that would know what it was for in the first place. It’s about as childish as one can imagine when running a country.

No-Deal, No Trust: EU member countries are expecting the worst and are now working on strategies for no deal. Whilst this includes the possible resumption of negotiations with the UK after Dec 31st – “French President Emmanuel Macron and other EU leaders will this week insist on tough enforcement rules for any U.K. trade deal, warning that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s move to override the Brexit treaty has shown Britain’s word cannot be trusted” (source).

Concentration Camps: The political narrative in politics today is not just about culture wars – it’s taken a decidedly insidious hard-right turn. Lord West (source) former Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Security and Counter-terrorism) was on the BBC’s Broadcasting House talking about what we do with asylum seekers arriving by boat “I can see we might need to concentrate them whether be it in a camp or something…” So that would be a concentration camp then. In the meantime, humanity is binned for a soundbite when no-one utters a word of objection (source).

Environment Fail: Britain is set to be left without an environment watchdog to replace the EU’s at the end of the Brexit transition period, because of government “dither and delay” over legislation. Ministers’ flagship Environment Bill was supposed to establish a new enforcement structure for environmental regulations in time for the end of December when EU rules stop applying. But repeated delays to the legislation mean there is no longer enough parliamentary time for the bill to pass into law before 1 January – leaving a gaping chasm in environmental enforcement (source).

Losing Out: Britain’s professional services industry, worth some £225billion annually is in danger of losing valuable EU business after Brexit, even if the government strikes a “Canada-style” trade deal with the EU. The warning comes from the latest report published by the House of Lords’ EU services subcommittee (source).

DING – It’s Oven Ready: Below is a tweet the Conservative party put out in December 2019 before the election. Britain now faces tipping over the no-deal cliff because they lied, lied a lot more – then doubled down on it.

Brexit Bullshit Update: https://truepublica.org.uk/united-kingdom/weekly-news-review-3rd-9th-october/

Mass Surveillance: A ruling by the EU’s top court last Tuesday dealt a serious blow to the prospect of digital information being able to flow freely across the Channel after Brexit. Simply put – this is because Britain’s mass surveillance regime has been ruled illegal (again) under EU rules. Britain is the Western world’s leader in privacy abuse and citizen data theft. From January 1, the UK will lose its automatic status as a safe destination for EU data because it falls out of the EU’s legal system. To keep the data taps flowing after Brexit, the U.K.’s data protection regime needs to get a stamp of approval from the European Commission in what is known as an “adequacy decision.” It won’t do that because Dominic Cummings cannot keep his dream alive of managing the state by data systems and AI if Britain complies to normal laws in normal democratic countries (source).

Pallet Shortage: The United Kingdom faces a race against time to have enough pallets for exporting to the European Union once the Brexit transition period ends in less than three months. The timber packaging industry says the coronavirus outbreak forced companies to put efforts to stockpile ISPM 15-compliant pallets on hold for several months. Now it is urging Boris Johnson’s UK government and the European Union to agree on an adjustment period lasting at least half a year so it has more time to build up stocks (source).

Simply Complicated: The updated Border Operating Model shows big gaps still remain. The document, dated September and said to have been handed out last week to senior managers, still lacks detail about crucial online systems hauliers will need to file paperwork with before heading to ports. Not only this but freight firms are facing a complicated array of customs declarations who will now need to record more than 10 different data points about their shipments, including purchased invoice numbers, date and time of entry and warehouse approval numbers, among other things. Apparently, this is meant to be the simple version.

Compo: Japanese manufacturers Nissan and Toyota have demanded that the UK government reimburses them for tariff costs if the UK can’t agree on a Brexit deal with the European Union (EU). As first reported by business publication Nikkei Asia, the companies are preparing themselves for a 10% tariff on cars exported from the UK to the EU that could come into place from 1 January 2021. If such market conditions do arise, they want the UK government to bear the brunt of the tariff costs (source).

Lamb: UK landowners warned this week that millions of lamb carcasses could go to waste if there’s a no trade-deal Brexit. The Country Land and Business Association said the imposition of tariffs could see the industry collapse, with prices depressed and about 2 million carcasses unsold. The lamb sector with 30,000 businesses in the supply chain is one of the most vulnerable to the shocks of a no-deal Brexit, with 89 per cent of sheepmeat exports heading to the EU each year (source).

Violence Warning: The Brexit backing Daily Mail has finally had to admit that the security checkpoints and customs bases in Northern Ireland that will inevitably be constructed after Brexit will become targets and a ‘recruiting badge’ for dissident republican groups, MPs have warned. It came after MI5 carried out an investigation into the terrorism threat linked to ‘installations or infrastructure at the border’ with the Irish Republic. The intelligence agency said it feared the New IRA could become a more dangerous threat in the future. The New IRA are recruiting significant numbers of politically violent young people (source).

Optimism: Brexit deal probability is up from 60% to 70% – according to Morgan Stanley. It joins the market bulls expecting a soft Brexit in its latest forecasts for a trade deal ahead of the autumn talks between the EU and UK. The bank cites the reduction of 10% from the previous 40% expectations of a World Trade Organization (WTO) terms based departure of the ex-neighbours. The resultant 70% soft Brexit probabilities also take clues from an increase in the mixed deal favours to 60%, from the previous 50%. In other words – money is now going on a deal of some sort (source). In addition, Goldman Sachs is advising its clients to buy sterling, with analysts predicting that the UK and EU could reach a post-Brexit trade deal by early November (source).

11.10.2020: ‘Unacceptable’ bacteria levels found on US meat may fuel fears over UK trade deal. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/oct/10/unacceptable-bacteria-levels-found-on-us-meat-may-fuel-fears-over-uk-trade-deal If the bacteria levels on US meat were 'acceptable' Americans would be eating it themselves. Brexit Bullshit Update https://truepublica.org.uk/united-kingdom/weekly-news-review-27th-sept-to-3rd-october/

Broken Down: Britain’s car industry risks losing out even if there is a post-Brexit trade deal with the EU, according to newly leaked documents. This is because car parts from Japan and Turkey used in the UK will not be treated as British (min 45 per cent country of origin), so some exports may see higher tariffs. In a letter, Britain’s chief Brexit negotiator says the UK has failed so far to get the car parts deal it wants, and “obviously cannot insist on it”. Much of UK car manufacturing is below the required threshold to call them British, although the reverse is not the case for the European Union. The problem is particularly acute for electric vehicles where an even larger proportion of the value of the car is contained in the battery. Instead of focusing on this – British negotiators decided to switch to fishing rights and subsidy powers (which they have just backed down on). Car manufacturing is worth nearly £19bn, fishing £1.4bn leading many in the car business to get very angry at how negotiations are going (source).

Something Smells Fishy: Britain has backtracked on the issue of fishing rights in UK waters in a last-minute attempt to salvage Brexit trade talks. The UK offered the EU a three-year transition period for its fishing fleets to leave British seas beginning from 2021. The idea of a phase-out has been discussed before but details of how one would work were not released until recently (source).

Oz and us: The International Trade Dept of the EU has announced it is now in advanced negotiations with Australia on a trade deal. “We’ve just wrapped up round 8 of negotiations towards an ambitious European Union-Australia Trade Agreement. Happy with the good progress. More work lies ahead: The next virtual negotiation round is scheduled for 30 November” (source). The UK government continues to tell people that if it does not end up with an EU trade deal, it will revert to the ‘Australia’ deal, which the Australians don’t want themselves – because being outside of it is not as good as being in it (source).

The Queen’s Big Bet: The private bank to the Queen is moving $350million in a bet that there will be a Brexit deal that defies widespread market scepticism. Coutts & Co. has moved its US stock holdings to an exchange-traded fund that would benefit from a rally in the pound if the U.K. government defies the odds to secure a new trading relationship with the European Union. “Based on game theory, we think there’s a deal to be done between the UK and Europe. Markets will be surprised, and that will result in higher sterling.”

Mood Swings: A survey by Ipsos MORI found that 58% of the public now think Britain will not receive a good Brexit deal, while 63% say ministers have done a bad job overall (source). Round 10 of Brexit talks begin next week with optimism pairing back a little after last week. The Internal markets Bill wasn’t helpful and the EU not really knowing what the UK parliament will eventually agree isn’t either. Boris Johnson laid down his own ‘red-lines’ and said a deal must be done by October 15th, which it won’t be – meaning BJ is bluffing – again. In another survey – just under half of Britons (49%) believe that Britain is a force for good in the world, down 10 points from April 2019. While 41% of Britons say the UK should punch above its weight in world affairs, the proportion who believe Britain should stop pretending it is an important power is up five points from last year to 38%. (source)

Cut-Price Uni: UK universities are offering EU nationals cut-price tuition fees after the Brexit transition period ends, amid fears the numbers of students coming to Britain from the Continent will plummet. The problem: “Lawyers have questioned whether such an offer is legal and whether it could breach discrimination laws” (source).

Bad Deal – Good Friday: In a further dig to No10, the US government continues to emphasize its support of Ireland to thwart any use of the Internal Market Bill that pulls the rug on the Good Friday Agreement, the Irish foreign minister has confirmed once again. Dublin has full US support in opposing UK’s Internal Market Bill. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden have made no bones about it – the Good Friday Agreement is to be protected or there’s no trade deal with the USA – and that’s final (source).

The courses will be funded via the National Skills Fund and aim to make it easier for employers to recruit skilled staff post-COVID. Higher education loans will also become more flexible to allow adults and young people to break up their study into segments, transfer credits between colleges and universities and study part-time. Apprenticeships will also be increased, and more funding will be provided to smaller businesses who hire apprentices.

02.10.2020: EU takes legal action against UK over Brexit treaty breach. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/eu-takes-legal-action-against-uk-over-brexit-treaty-breach/ar-BB19Bhwv?ocid=msedgntp That will go to the top of a pile of breaches of the law which include war crimes, crimes against humanity, terrorism, sponsorship of terrorism, mass murder, fraud, theft and money laundering. It would be naive to expect the charges to be levelled only against the guilty parties - namely politicians, their gutter media and propaganda and Brexit Knobheads, of course. But it's a start and the more shit which can be shovelled out of the way the more resources there should be left over for taxpayers and small businesses.

And 'anti-science' EU? Now that's a new one. Or have they mis-spelt 'anti-Semitic'?

Consultation launched on new powers to ensure small businesses are paid on time. https://www.aol.co.uk/news/2020/10/01/consultation-launched-on-new-powers-to-ensure-small-businesses-a/ Another 'consultation', eh? Hopefully. (Although on the same basis, Facebook itself should also be shut down.)

Irish court rules Subway bread is not bread. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/01/irish-court-rules-subway-bread-is-not-bread One can always rely on the Irish to cut to the chase. So. Subway 'bread' is not bread as civilised folk knows bread because it contains so much sugar. (Which anyone who has tasted this muck knows already.) In other words, it's just another example of the American shit which the Tory regime and Brexiteers want to thrust down everyones' throats.
