By way of explanation. The term 'home business' consists of two words. 'Business' is the second one; it's there to qualify and support the word 'home' and all that goes with it - and not vice versa. Consequently, we also list below, items which are of interest and value to the home. Whether in its context as an office or as a part of your family and lifestyle but always directed at the improved prospects and enjoyment that running a business from home, in its entirety, can bring.

For a current, multi-part overview of starting and running a business from home, go here: http://www.homebusiness.org.uk/features.htm

Mr Taylor is expected to warn the Government that some workers are being exploited by employers, and to call for a right for zero-hours workers to request guaranteed or fixed hours. Employers would have to consider all requests for fixed hours and give satisfactory reasons for turning down a request. (EnterpriseQuest)

29.05.2017: Tories' plans will see more than 50,000 lives cut short by air pollution by 2030 in London alone, Greens claim. http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/air-pollution-conservative-air-quality-plan-greens-premature-deaths-london-bristol-brighton-oxford-a7758241.html And all at the behest of American climate criminals. Just as well the regime invested so much time and taxpayers' money in its terrorism programme to divert the public's attention away from the real carnage taking place. (Apart from terrorism abroad under its 'special relationship' with the USA and The Coalition of Evil, of course.) All muchly aided and abetted by the regime's propagandascheisewriters, hate-preachers and fake news media.

So we might all just as well stop working from home now. Whoever came up with the idea that it was a more planet-friendly use of the labour force clearly hadn't taken into account the antics of the present government's WC (war criminal) Party.

Jeremy Corbyn election victory would damage 'special relationship' with US, warns Donald Trump ally. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/05/18/choppers-election-podcast-jeremy-corbyn-election-victory-would/ GOOD! And at long last. For decades, the US has exploited its military 'special relationship' with Britain - a relationship which, for Britain, was never affordable whether it be for strategic, economic, commercial, moral or, as recent events have shown, human reasons. If America is simply looking for partners to take the blowback from its long history of terrorism and crimes against humanity, then let it fuck off and find another stooge elsewhere. We've got other business to be getting on with. And that's precisely what the Americans are worried about when, literally the same day as Jeremy Corbyn and his supporters started to take the lead over America's cowardly terrorist goons, the Tories, we had the Manchester outrage - which even certain sections of the American media knew more about, more rapidly, than our own police. Now how does that happen? Again and again.

(Although Little Ingerlandt's US-aligned fake news propaganda and hate-preachers will continue to obfuscate and insist - it was all down to the EU. Or the Russians. In addition, 33% of business operators said their systems were down for more than a month and 15% said their data was irrecoverable.

Firms urged to prepare for ban on card charges. https://abta.com/news-and-views/news/new-guidance-on-the-2018-changes-to-credit-and-debit-card-charges and https://www.fca.org.uk/firms/revised-payment-services-directive-psd2 From January 2018, business operators will no longer be able to charge customers a fee for using their debit or credit card to pay for goods or services. Currently, firms can apply a surcharge when taking payment by debit or credit card to cover the cost of accepting card payments, such as the merchant service fee applied by a credit card company. Under the new rules, surcharges on card payments will be banned. Business operators are being encouraged to start preparing for the ban, for example by providing incentives to encourage customers to use other payment methods. The changes are being introduced as part of the EU Revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) which must be implemented into UK national law by 13 January 2018. (EnterpriseQuest)

The report revealed that 78% of small firms have used business support services in the past 12 months. These services are often part or wholly funded by the EU and play a key role in supporting small firms to grow their business. FSB National Chairman, Mike Cherry, said: "If the next Government is serious about developing an Industrial Strategy that delivers prosperity across all areas of England, it must replace EU funding dedicated to small business support and access to finance after we leave the EU." Bank Referral Scheme under review. http://www.leasinglife.com/news/newssme-bank-referral-scheme-under-review-by-uk-treasury-5798646/ HM Treasury has ordered a review of the Bank Referral Scheme. The scheme, which was launched in November 2016, was designed to help small and medium-sized firms that have been turned down by high-street banks to find finance elsewhere. Firms that have been rejected for finance are referred to one of three platforms that can identify alternative sources of finance. However, the Treasury has raised concerns that the scheme is underused and banks are not referring clients to the platforms. The review will explore how successful the scheme has been at helping smaller firms access finance in its first six months of operation. (EnterpriseQuest)

Not that Stansted was ever intended to be more than a third-rate airport for the swinish riff-raff but since it became just another pawn embroiled in American terrorism, it has gone completely to pot. It's the same everywhere: the Americans create global havoc (famines, AIDS, financial crises, millions of refugees, climate change, 'wars' (mass murder) and terrorism, etc, etc); in response, they come up with dog-shit solutions which they inflict upon their victims and innocent bystanders; at the same time, they deliberately continue to worsen the original crisis; followed by still more dog-shit solutions to exacerbate matters even further. And so it goes round and around. US 'free' trade - queering everyone's patch bar a handful of evil, Fake American shekel-worshippers. Report on Brexit's impact on agriculture. http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/lords-select/eu-energy-environment-subcommittee/news-parliament-2015/brexit-agr-rpt/ The House of Lords Energy and Environment Sub-Committee has published a report examining the impact of Brexit on the UK's agriculture sector. The report highlights that the sector faces significant challenges as a result of the UK leaving the EU. The committee has identified leaving the EU as an opportunity for agricultural policies to be tailored to the needs of farmers and consumers across the UK. However, it has also warned that farmers would need time and clarity from the Government to enable them to adapt to change. The committee also warns that farmers risk facing higher tariffs when exporting and increased competition from imported produce, and with restricted access to EU labour could face severe difficulties. Report on self-employment and gig economy. http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/work-and-pensions-committee/news-parliament-2015/gig-economy-report-published-16-17/ The House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee has published the findings of its inquiry into self-employment and the gig economy (people having temporary jobs or doing separate pieces of work, each paid separately, rather than working for a single employer).

The committee found that many employers operating in the gig economy are able to deny basic employment rights to workers who don't have 'employee' or 'worker' status, and often class their workers as self-employed so their contract doesn't have to provide any benefits such as sick or holiday pay. The committee also found that there was nothing to prevent employers and workers opting for a self-employed contractor agreement rather than an employment contract to avoid paying tax and National Insurance contributions, which results in tax losses for the Treasury.

The committee recommended that after the general election the new Government should produce a plan for 'equalising' employee and self-employed National Insurance contributions and all workers should be given the employment status of 'worker' by default rather than self-employed.

The committee has also recommended that the new Government should review the minimum income floor in Universal Credit so that it supports and encourages entrepreneurship instead of subsidising self-employment. It has also suggested that the floor should not apply to self-employed claimants until the review has been completed. (EnterpriseQuest)

Tax changes dropped from Finance Bill. http://www.tax.org.uk/media-centre/press-releases/press-release-tax-advisers-welcome-sensible-pragmatic-approach-finance Provisions to introduce Making Tax Digital have been removed from the Finance Bill and are therefore absent from the Finance Act, which received Royal Assent on 27 April 2017. Other provisions dropped include the tax-free allowance on trading income for self-employed people who earn £1,000 or less and the reduction in the tax-free dividend allowance. The Government's "pragmatic" approach has been welcomed by the Chartered Institute of Taxation, which had warned about the risks of rushing numerous tax changes through without proper parliamentary scrutiny. However, the institute also predicts that many of the provisions will return after the general election. (EnterpriseQuest)

New guide to boost food and drink exports. The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) and the Food and Drink Exporters Association (FDEA) have launched a new guide to help grow the value of UK food and drink exports. The guide, 'Food and Drink Exporting - Five Steps to Success', provides a range of advice to help small and medium-sized food and drink producers start exporting and sets out the steps they should take to grow their business through export.

Angela Coleshill, Competitiveness Director at FDF, said: "While our trading terms with the EU are unclear, now is the time for British businesses to embrace new opportunities in non-EU countries and take advantage of rising demand to make inroads into new markets." (EnterpriseQuest)

On the other hand, French Muslims don't run the country's state propaganda. Nor do they form its incompetent, corrupt, criminal, establishment elite.

Fear of neofascism keeps Emmanuel Macron ahead of Marine Le Pen. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/29/france-election-neofascism-le-pen-macron France has been enduring 'neo-fascist' regimes for over a decade - bringing terror to millions of innocent citizens in North Africa and the Middle East and at the same time driving hundreds of thousands of French businesses into the wall. Sadly, because most French voters are an even bigger bunch of knobheads than Brexiteers who believe everything they hear and read in their fake news propaganda, they think they have been enjoying a 'republic' and 'socialism'.
