Code of Ethical Business Practice

ALL MEMBERS AGREE:

1. To endeavour to maintain a professional image at all times.
   
   
   
2. To operate their own business in a LEGAL, HONEST and PROFESSIONAL manner.
   
   
   
3. To draw attention to the activity of any person(s) within the organisation whose Membership might bring The Home Business Alliance into disrepute.
   
   
   
4. To extend assistance or advice, wherever possible to any fellow Home Business Alliance Members and agree that this assistance (in whatever form it may take) be jointly decided upon and implemented by the co-operating members themselves, independently of Home Business Alliance (who will act as the link between Members for this service, if required).
   
   
   
5. That whilst remaining aware of the healthy competition which exists between all businesses, Members of The Home Business Alliance are requested to regard their membership as a Special Bond and support a special business relationship with other Members.
   
   
   
6. No Member will purposefully undertake any actions which could undermine or otherwise have any detrimental effect on a fellow Home Business Alliance Member or his business activities: nor should any Member use any specialised knowledge acquired about fellow members for his/her self-gain.
   
   
   
7. That in using The Home Business Alliance Membership symbol on their letterhead and advertisements, members will uphold the The Home Business Alliance Code of Ethical Business Practice, and failure to do so will result in suspension or withdrawal of membership and they will no longer be able to display membership of The Home Business Alliance, nor use the Membership symbol.
   
   
   
8. Voluntary resignation (i.e. lapsed subscription) will also prevent the future use of The Home Business Alliance Membership symbol, and lapsed members will return their Membership Certificate for cancellation at such time.
   
   
   
9. Under no circumstances with The Home Business Alliance tolerate the deliberate misuse or abuse of membership. Any person taking membership of The Home Business Alliance with intentions of using The Home Business Alliance to give distinction to an otherwise disreputable concern will be subject to disciplinary procedure and their membership may be terminated.
