Wm.Skinner
& Son
Wm.Skinner
& Son is a long established building contractor with bases
in Scotland, at Ayr, and in England, at Royston near Cambridge.
The Company has recently joined Home Business Alliance because,
though much of its work is the refurbishment of retail stores,
commercial premises and, most recently, schools and local authority
premises, it now has a range of activities which it believes will
be of interest to members. As a new member
of HBA it offers these services to fellow members at trade prices.
These
are:
1.
Custom designed garden Offices or other garden structures, ranging
from treehouses to smoking shelters. These can be of the simplest,
providing just shelter, to a fully equipped year-round office
facility which is highly efficient in energy use and which will
enhance
the look of a garden.
2.
The full range of renewable energy options - bio-mass; heat pumps;
solar thermal systems; PV panels and wind-turbines. These can
be scaled to specific applications down to simple domestic use,
but can be particularly useful with buildings which might be remote
from normal services, such as garden offices or workshops; but
for the right application they can be justified on cost grounds
alone as parts of normal heating or energy arrangements.
Skinners
is a family owned business and has been trading for many years.
It now employs around 100 staff, amongst whom are qualified, accredited
and highly skilled tradesmen covering all the building trades.
There is a good, regularly up-dated, web site at www.williamskinner.co.uk,
and conventional brochures are available.
Anyone
interested in either of the two services described is invited
to call John Quinton, a fellow HBA member and long time Director
of the Company, on 01491 575616.
